About me
I see yoga as a key player in restoring and maintaining health and helping us to be our most compassionate selves. Sharing the gifts of yoga with my students and supporting them on their journey is a privilege that I treasure.

In 2008, yoga became my daily practice, and in 2017, I began the process of becoming a yoga teacher. My teaching certifications include YTT 500 (from a comprehensive 500-hour Yoga Teacher-Training program), and specialized Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, all completed at Octopus Garden Yoga Centre in Toronto.

Among the many sources of inspiration contributing to my personal yoga practice and my teaching are my background in dance and in psychology studies, a history of significant medical challenges, and the amazing yoga teachers I have had the good fortune to learn from. A brief bit about each of these:
I am a former ballet dancer and teacher of dance, having spent a total of 37 years training in ballet and other dance disciplines, and graduating from the 3-year teacher-training program at Canada’s National Ballet School. Movement exploration continues to be dear to my heart, as I bring this passion into my teaching with my yoga students. My years of immersion in dance have also greatly enhanced my ability to see details in my yoga students' alignment and breath quality, and to come up with creative sequences.
My background in psychology studies includes a PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Toronto, and a long and enjoyable career working as a researcher with families at SickKids hospital in Toronto. I have always been fascinated with human development and the factors that can either facilitate or hinder optimal functioning and enjoyment of life. This fascination carries over to my teaching of yoga, as I endeavour to support my students as they develop through their yoga practice.
My history of significant medical challenges is largely what brought me to yoga, and the wellness I have earned through my daily practice is what keeps me coming back to the mat. Yoga's ability to enhance one's degree of wellness is something I am passionate about sharing with my students, and greatly informs my approach to teaching.
Finally, my teaching is deeply affected by each and every yoga teacher I have studied with, particularly John Veiga, Pat Harada Linfoot, YuMee Chung, Nicky Poole, Jennifer Helland, David Good, Hali Schwartz, Scott Davis, Tracey Currie, Scott Petrie, Ernie Patai, J-P Tamblyn-Sabo, Allie Chisholme-Smith, and many other fine teachers.
Now, I am honoured to serve my yoga students as they explore their own potential through movement and self-inquiry.
